Runpod alternative: rent GPUs on a spot exchange

EverXCloud vs Runpod: how GPU rental works on each, where a spot exchange with bids helps, and when Runpod remains the better fit.

Comparison5 sections2 min read

The short answer

EverXCloud is an alternative to Runpod if you want to rent GPUs by the hour on an exchange, where you can buy at the market price or set your own bid. Runpod is a GPU cloud with its own catalogue of products, from pods to serverless.

How Runpod is organized

As of October 2026, Runpod's pricing page lists Pods (dedicated GPU instances in Community Cloud and Secure Cloud), Serverless workers, multi-GPU Clusters, Reserved Clusters through sales, Public Endpoints for hosted models, and several storage types billed per GB per month.

Its pricing page shows rates per hour and per second for Pods, Serverless and Clusters. Check the current page for prices and conditions.

How EverXCloud works

EverXCloud is a spot exchange for GPU rental hours. You buy at the best live offer, or you place a bid at the price you are willing to pay and are matched when an offer meets it.

EverXCloud Inc., a Delaware corporation, is the merchant of record for every rental, whether the machine is its own, in a partner data center or with another provider. Prices are shown per GPU-hour, excluding tax, and accounts are prepaid: there is no post-paid billing.

You manage rentals from the web portal or the REST API, with scoped API keys and signed webhooks. The site and portal are available in English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese, and the Service Level Agreement sets a monthly availability commitment.

EverXCloud is in pre-launch: offers and prices shown today are indicative and become rentable on launch day.

When Runpod is a better fit

Choose Runpod if you need serverless inference that scales workers automatically, hosted model endpoints billed per request or token, or a reserved cluster under contract today: EverXCloud does not offer these products.

Runpod is also available now, while EverXCloud is in pre-launch.

How to compare before you choose

Compare the same GPU model, memory size and form factor (SXM or PCIe), in the same region, with the same storage. A headline hourly rate rarely describes the whole session cost.

Run your own workload on each candidate and record runtime, total cost and failed requests. A benchmark of your model is more reliable than any specification table or third-party comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Does EverXCloud offer serverless GPUs like Runpod?
No. EverXCloud rents GPU instances by the hour on a spot exchange. It does not offer serverless workers or hosted model endpoints.
Who sells the rental on EverXCloud?
EverXCloud Inc., a Delaware corporation, is the merchant of record for every rental, whichever provider runs the machine.
