How a GPU spot exchange works

How buying GPU hours on an exchange works: offers, bids, matching and prepaid balances, explained step by step on EverXCloud.

The short answer

A GPU spot exchange lists offers of GPU rental hours from several providers and lets buyers either take the best offer at once or place a bid at their own price. A bid is matched when an offer meets it.

On EverXCloud, every rental is sold by EverXCloud Inc. as merchant of record, whichever provider runs the machine.

Offers and bids

Sellers are verified companies that list GPU configurations with a price per GPU-hour. Buyers see the best live offer for each configuration and region on the market page.

A buyer who wants to pay less places a bid: the price per GPU-hour, the configuration and the duration. Bids and offers together form the order book of each configuration.

Matching and launch

When a bid meets an offer, the rental is matched at that price and the instance is prepared. You then connect with your SSH key from the portal or manage the rental through the REST API.

Buying at the best offer is a match at the current price; the instance starts the same way.

Prepaid balance and billing

Accounts are prepaid: you fund a balance, and rentals draw on it by the hour. There is no post-paid billing or credit line.

Prices are shown excluding tax. Tax and invoicing follow the Tax Policy and Invoicing page.

What a spot exchange is not

Rental hours are access to computing resources. The exchange is not a financial product: no derivatives, no leverage, no transferable credits.
